Becoming a Member of Grand Angels
Collaborative Investing That Makes a Difference
Grand Angels has built a solid reputation in Michigan for thoughtful engagement with entrepreneurs and entrepreneur-friendly processes. We are regularly asked to participate in various educational and economic development events.
Membership in Grand Angels is extended to individuals who share our vision and will actively contribute to our process. It is a group process with an individual strategy. Our motivation includes helping entrepreneurs, staying engaged in the business community, and giving back to our community at large through economic development. The advantages of investing through an angel band are numerous:
- Sharing the cost of due diligence and legal support
- Capitalizing on the variety of domain experience among members
- Standardized processes and term sheets
- Deal flow is encouraged and entrepreneur-friendly
- You pick and choose the deals you like
- Great camaraderie among like-minded individuals
Typical Angel investors are individuals who have succeeded in their own business ventures and now have time, finances, and expert advice to offer local entrepreneurs. Members must be accredited investors and willing to invest in companies presented by Grand Angels, attend regular meetings and events, assist in the due diligence process and mentor entrepreneurs.
Grand Angels is not a fund and therefore members do not invest as a group. All investment decisions are made by individual members. Members of Grand Angels must be “accredited investors” as defined by the Securities Exchange Commission.
Please take a look at our Member Expectations to learn more about what we require of our members.
